Thanks For Signing Up! Welcome

Riding high 🚀 in April, shot down in May.

The life of a dealership manager can be lonely and exciting at the same time…A lot like being a Fighter Pilot.

Here is a list of traits and skills a fighter pilot must have… (See if you, as a Dealership Manager, have some of these traits and skills too)

  1. Clear Communicator
  2. Situationally Aware
  3. Team-Working Skills
  4. Decisiveness and Quick thinking skills
  5. The Ability to Remain Calm
  6. Mentality– Confidence, Attitude & Self Discipline
  7. Leadership Skills
  8. The Ability to Understand Technical Information
  9. Mathematics & Creative Skills Combined
  10. Knowing When To Break Rules

Anyone who has been in a managerial position at any store would agree… You could refer to yourself as Maverick or Iceman, and you wouldn't be too far out of line. The required traits are interchangeable.

A lot of people are counting on you to make the right moves, and that is an unrelenting force.

Then when you leave work, you have a whole new set of people counting on you.

You were made for the pressure and probably love it… most of the time. But when the times get dark…they get really dark.

And during those times, you become very aware that, like a fighter pilot, your ass is firmly planted on an ejector seat. The problem is... you're not the one with your finger on the button.

It's a pile of pressure that most of you have just gotten used to handling alone. Other aspects of your life probably fall by the wayside… namely your health, fitness, and relationships.

However, there is a better way.

The most efficient way to relieve that pressure is realizing you aren't alone and then getting in the company of people like you… Who are unbiased and not counting on you. They understand every bit of what you face daily

Creating new relationships with people in the very same boat as you… a Tribe…

In the Military Aviator theme, these groups are referred to as Squadrons.

In entrepreneurial settings, they are referred to as Mastermind Groups.

"No two minds ever came together without, thereby, creating a third, invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind"  - Napoleon Hill in Think and Grow Rich

When times do get dark, problems arise, and you feel the unknowns and loneliness, wouldn't it be good to be able to turn to your Squadron for support?  A place to find answers, fresh perspectives or at least obtain unbiased opinions and rigorous thinking?

This will enable you to create clear strategies appropriate for your situation.

The guy with his finger on your ejector seat controls didn't hire you to hear.

"I don't know what to do now"  😶‍🌫️

"What do you want me to do?" 😕

Or

“That’s the market we are in” 😶‍🌫️

He wants to hear this:

📢"I recommend we do "X" because "Y and Z" . (Factually and Confidently)

You were hired to produce solutions when times get hard, and there is no playbook or SOP for all the new issues we face today.

Any donkey can shine when things are easy, as we've all learned these last couple years.

It is when times get tough that the real Aces are revealed.

As an entrepreneur, I also felt this crippling solitude and deafening silence when things got tough.

Some time ago, I sought a solution and found a Private Mastermind Group called the Arete Syndicate. I applied and am grateful that I was accepted. This group was founded by a couple of incredible Entrepreneurs, Andy Frisella and Ed Mylett.

Every Wednesday at 6 pm EST, we all get on a Zoom and listen to Ed and Andy's lessons and  Q&A monthly topics that are relevant to the times. These calls are immensely valuable, but the real power is in the community. A couple thousand people with the same issues, relying on each other like Brothers and Sisters. Share strategies, experience, connections, and support

To say it is INCREDIBLY powerful would be a true understatement.

I decided to create a similar resource for all of my Brothers and Sisters in the Car Business.

"Can-Am Confidential" is a Free Private group whose members will ONLY be management staff at Car Dealerships in the United States and Canada.

The genesis of this group is to share strategies surrounding the ever-changing landscape of wholesale, but it will quickly morph into much more than that.

It will become a Brotherhood of Leaders who have each other's backs.

We will have a Private Facebook group and also a Slack channel so that smaller pods can be created within the community.

You can become a Founding Member of the group here (Link to Facebook group).

(I was accepted into the second opening of the Arete Syndicate and procrastinated. I joined 2 years later and missed out on the chance to be at the beginning of a movement…don’t miss your chance to be an OG)
